Project goal
The project focuses on the formation and capacity building of CBG (Community Based Groups) in order to enable the target group to plan and implement development projects in their respective villages and to improve the communication between the target group and the local government.
Project outcomes
- The target group (ca. 1.400 persons in 4 villages) know the laws, which are influencing their life and they know how to get access to their rights.
- The CBG are planning community based development activities according to their priority.
- The life conditions in the 4 villagers has been improved due to the implementation of small development activities.
Indicators:
- At the end of the project period 60% of the households in the 4 villages are aware of laws directly concerning their life (e.g. “grassroot democracy”). At least 40 key members, 50% of them women, are trained in community management and are leading 10 CBGs, which have been formed for the implementation of development projects.
- At the end of the first project year 4 community houses (each 80 m2 with separate toilets) have been competed under the supervision of the CBGs. The community houses are used for village meetings, training etc. Due to the improved location more villagers participate in the public meetings.
