Target Groups
- Local people, students and teachers of 30 project’s communes/wards and 04 secondary schools:
- 05 communes and 02 secondary schools in Ky Son District of Hoa Binh province;
- 09 wards and 01 secondary school in Dong Hoi City of Quang Binh province;
- 16 wards and 01 secondary school in Nam Dinh City of Nam Dinh province.
- Local authorities at district and communal levels
- Other local NGOs in Vietnam.
Project goal
Self-Management Communities at grassroots levels contribute to the socio-economic development in Vietnam.
Project objective
In three provinces, the consolidation and replication of community management approaches ensure Vietnamese communities (mainstream and disadvantaged households/citizens) are increasingly involved in local development planning and decision making.
Project Outcomes
- Community effectively self-manage their projects and influence local planning and decision making process.
- Local authorities create enabling environment for community management models.
- Community management models are replicated and scaled up by networking between Communities in project provinces and linkages to other NGOs/CBOs/service providers.
Measures
- Baseline surveys.
- Development of community profiles.
- Community Based Group - CBGs set up.
- CBGs (including student’s groups) developed and implemented.
- Community management (CM) funds for blocks/villages/schools.
- CBG/self-help projects coaching at community levels and schools.
- CM grants for "graduated" blocks and Community Initiative Fund.
- Community CM capacity building: skills training and other related trainings.
- Trainings for students and teachers;
- Trainings for local authorities.
- Feedbacks between local authorities and CBGs.
- Local authorities evaluate results of Development Projects implemented by CBGs.
